The REMF team who took part in last week's Brighton Marathon raised more than £6,000 for the charity.

After months of training and preparation, the REMF runners did themselves and the charity proud and the cash will now go towards funding junior football clubs or good causes.

A spokesman for the REMF said, "It was an absolutely amazing effort to raise that amount and the charity owes each and every runner a huge thank you.

"To take on such a big challenge is inspiring and their efforts will help others far less fortunate.

"I hope they are all as proud of themselves as we are of them."
