Not many people are aware that Robert Eaton was a professional singer between the ages of 8 and 13.

3 of his chorister colleagues at St Paul's Cathedral, who also played football and cricket with Robert while at school are cycling from Crystal Palace to Brighton on Friday to attend the REMF memorial match and raise awareness.

Craig McLeish, Mark Withers and Nick Roberts will be arriving at the Lewes ground at around 6.30 and a few others will attend the match. They have raised over £3000 so far and aim to collect more on the way.

Pictured here is a victorious school cricket team with Nick (3rd from left) Craig (4th) Robert (6th) and Mark (far right) all featuring.

Robert and Craig are also pictured setting off on a 2 week cycling holiday in 1980.

Craig writes - Robert was a tour de force at school - a gifted Cello player and natural sportsman who did everything with panache and a glint in his eye - he was a delight to be friends with and we were privileged to know him and especially sing with him - still by far the best boy treble voice I have ever heard. Many of our best memories at school were sporting ones - beating rival schools and sharing wickets and goals with Rob will stay with me forever. If anyone would like to hear Robert's incredible voice please contact Craig directly on [email protected]

If anyone would like to donate further because of their "tired old legs" please visit Mark's Just Giving page where you can find more information
